We are an international Catholic pastoral charity, funded exclusively by private donations, which is recognised by and answerable to the Holy See as a charity of the universal Church. Our administrative headquarters are situated in the town of Königstein, near Frankfurt, Germany, where some 70 staff members deal annually with over 5,000 pastoral aid projects for the Catholic Church in more than 145 countries of the world. ACN also has national offices in 17 countries of Europe, North and South America and in Australia.

 
We are seeking at the earliest opportunity to appoint a
 
 
                                 SECTION HEAD for our AFRICA DESK
 
 
As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for our aid projects in the English and Portuguese-speaking countries of Africa. The work of the section involves above all the processing, evaluation and, where approved, administration of our aid projects for this area in accordance with the relevant pastoral criteria of ACN.
 
We can offer a highly varied, interesting and challenging responsibility, serving the needs of the growing Church in Africa. You will be expected to maintain close contacts with the local bishops and religious superiors, both during their visits to our Königstein headquarters and during your own visits to the countries of the section concerned. 

 

You should have a university degree or equivalent qualification and possess a high degree of competence in both German and English. Knowledge of additional foreign languages, in particular Portuguese or French, will also be an advantage.
